Savor a wide array of the Shawnee Hills Appellations great varietals from Chardonel to Chambourcin at the second annual Among the Stars Festival. This event celebrates all things local and features only wines made from grapes grown in the Shawnee Hills American Viticultural Area. Meet the passionate grape growers and winemakers behind your favorite wines and indulge in a variety of experiences, which can increase your knowledge, and enjoyment of the Shawnee Hills.

Wineries

Within the Shawnee Hills American Viticultural Area are unique, eclectic wineries producing a wide array of wines and experiences for travelers. This event allows you to enjoy the wines grown within the Shawnee Hills that reflect the unique terroir of our region.

Celebrate the wines of the Shawnee Hills at one great location where you can sample and purchase some of our great varietals in a festive atmosphere. There is something for everyone at this event.

Many of your favorite Shawnee Hills wineries will be present for this event but look for some of our northern Illinois wineries to showcase some of their award-winning wines made from "Shawnee Hills" grapes.

Opportunities

This event affords you the opportunity to sample wine from many AVA wineries and wineries that use Shawnee Hills fruit, meet the growers and winemakers behind the success of your favorite vintages while enjoying wine seminars given by local wine and grape experts.

Vineyard Tour: An in depth look at a Shawnee Hills AVA vineyard. Learn what it takes to grow great grapes in the Shawnee Hills. Featuring a unique tasting of southern Illinois wine & food. Experience why local wines and local foods pair so well.

VIP Tent: Enjoy unique wine and food pairing options, a sampling of Illinois Sparkling Company's Blend 786 that was used to christen the USS Illinois by Michelle Obama in 2015, a tasting of our custom, collaborative blended wine from Shawnee Hills wineries. A Shawnee Hills Wine-Grape Association t-shirt, seating at the event & more!

Entertainment

Artisans: View the juried works of some of the region's best artists and craftsmen employing a variety of media including painting, ceramics, jewelry, fiber art, glass, wood, metal and photography.

Music By: Kevin Lucas - Ahhh, the marimba. Kevin Lucas is one of those guys you see play once, and you remember him for the rest of your life. Enjoy a great show from this Grammy Nominated, award-winning musician while sipping your favorite glass of Shawnee Hills wine.

Bring your chairs, or a blanket, purchase a glass of wine and relax all afternoon.

Standard Ticket: $15.00 / Person Early Purchase (Until June 9, 2016)

$20.00 / Person at the Festival Entry Gate.

Ticket includes a wine glass with tasting (3 samples) at each of the participating wineries, wine seminars, live music, a chance to shop at local artisans booths and a $3.00 coupon that may be used towards merchandise at wine booths or the Shawnee Hills Wine-Grape Association tent. (Coupon Exclusions: May not be used towards the purchase of a glass of wine. Only one coupon per purchase.) Tickets will be $20.00 at the gate.

Designated Driver Ticket: $5.00/Person

We proudly support our Among the Stars Designated Driver program by offering complimentary alternative beverages to all designated drivers. Upon entering the event the designated driver will receive a special color wrist band and two tickets for an alternative beverage to be enjoyed during the festival. Designated drivers will not be able to sample wines at the event.
